Amino Acid Skin Care
Amino acids are the core constituents of a protein molecule. There are many amino acids, but only twenty of them are the most common in protein molecule. When two amino acids stick together with each other, the bond is referred to as peptide bond. Now the peptide bonds can be of different types depending on their joining structure, whether one-to-one, or one-to-two, or poly.
Today many cosmetic companies use the benefit of amino acid and exclusively employ them to the production of skin care products. There are few amino acids that have extensive benefits over skin nourishment and rejuvenation. The peptides offer a signaling message during skin healing mechanism and when it interacts with the damaged skin structure, the peptides release a signal indicating the possibility of building new skin, hence the mechanism for synthesizing new proteins initiates.
Synthetic peptides are the newest inclusion in the skin care industry. However, apart from few exceptions, the efficiency of peptides as a skin care product is not yet tested in long-run. In the short run, peptides may have an extensive influence over collagen I, III and IV synthesis, wrinkle density reduction and wrinkle volume reduction. In most of the cases, the manufacturers of synthetic peptides adopt mimicking as the ideal method for the purpose of their production and they usually choose the best one from the lot as the final output, which obviously heightens the production cost.
Copper peptide is another synthetic product mimicking a natural source. It is particularly beneficial for treating scars and wounds. In addition, it has the ability to boost up the collagen synthesis process when it is used in an optimal concentration. However, if used in higher concentration, it promotes the risk for collagen breakdown.
Peptides can also be produced from natural sources as well. Needless to say, production from natural sources is comparatively cheaper than synthetic ones. However, in most of the cases, they offer the same benefit such as collagen synthesis. Since, these are available at the lower price, so one may employ them in higher concentration as well. This may lead to protein synthesis and restoration of skin moisturizer.
